Child Shows Signs of Autism
Our son began to show signs of autism after a set of vaccinations. At the
time we didn't know it was autism but over the years we have identified them
as autism like. the doctor wanted to test some experimental things and we
stopped with the "tests" and used common sense measures. At that time (18
mos.) he would shake his head back and forth and begin to cry in the night
and could not be comforted. As he grew we thought it was misbehavior
episodes when in fact as he began to talk at age 3, we found he had no
recollection of these episodes or anything that happened. He also barely
crawled and walked at 2+ and climbed the barn ladder with difficulty for
several years. The episodes were seizures caused by low blood sugar and dyes.
A nutritional doctor suggested Vitamin C 1000 mg. in water in syringe
squirted in his mouth when he had an episode. Within 30 minutes of
ingestion of dyes he would seizure in these episodes of crying and lashing
out. He still has some of the typical symptoms of autism in mild form. He
struggles at age 7 1/2 to learn to read and if the routine isn't there he may
really get upset. He doesn't like new situations and likes someone he knows
within eye sight wherever we go. He is sweet unless he gets dyes or blood
sugar fluctuators and extremely creative. His taste buds are extremely
sensitive.
We have found diet control useful; no dyes and limited preservatives, and no
milk except mealshake and I still question that use. Eat organic foods,
primarily fructose sweeteners and plenty of Optiflora, VitaLea, Omegia3, GLA, and
C. He gets 4 multi chewables because I can't get Calcium and B-complex down
him. He is getting better about taking more supplements. We also home school
him to reduce stress and increase one on one work. He takes swimming class
and plays soccer to encourage large motor skills. We use all Shaklee
cleaners and limit exposure in any other way to chemicals.
Though he is not labeled autistic, he shows some symptoms. Though they could
be ADD symptoms. Though autistic symptoms seem more prevalent now. I
hope this helps.
A distributor of ours has a severe autistic son. He will take the mealshake
and mom says it really helps because he will not eat but 3 or 4 foods. We
are working to introduce more products to his mother.
